Frequently Asked

Is Dominion free?
Yes. The core 1v1 game is free to play — no trial, no time gate, no paywall on matchmaking or leaderboards. A cosmetic Supporter pass will launch a few months after public release; it affects profile frames, unit skins, and similar visual flourishes. Nothing you can buy will change combat, economy, or matchmaking in any way.
Does it run on mobile?
Not at launch. Dominion is a competitive real-time strategy game that relies on precise mouse input and a large, readable hex map. Shrinking that to a touch interface would either make the game too slow or too small to play well. Desktop (and desktop-shaped tablets with a mouse) is the supported surface for now.
What browser should I use?
Any up-to-date Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc) or Firefox. Safari works but we test it less rigorously. The game renders with Pixi.js / WebGL and uses standard web APIs only — no extensions required.
How long is a typical match?
Ten to fourteen minutes is the design target. AI stomps can end in three to five; evenly matched human games settle into the seven-to-twelve-minute range. A ring of dead tiles begins advancing at the five-minute mark, which guarantees every match reaches a decisive ending rather than dragging.
How do I report a bug?
Email arronnestor@gmail.com. Include what you were doing, your match ID if you have one, your browser and OS, and a screenshot or short recording if possible. Details on the contact page.
Is there a ranked mode?
Casual matchmaking ships first. Ranked (Elo-rated ladder play) arrives after launch once we have enough concurrent players for ranked queues to fill in a reasonable time. Ranked will require a signed-up account.
Will there be paid cosmetics?
Yes — unit skins, map themes, victory animations, profile frames tied to peak Elo. All cosmetic. None affect gameplay. The Supporter pass also removes display ads for people who want that option; rewarded ads stay available on opt-in because the rewards (advanced match stats, cosmetic previews) are things people actually want.
Can I play with a friend?
Private 1v1 matches are the game's original and primary mode. Casual matchmaking against random opponents comes after launch. An FFA mode may follow; that's further out and needs separate balance work.
